Seeing as i dont have a copy of a vector editing program, i wont be participating {Tongue Out}

I do my vector work in Photoshop. Submissions in a raster format are absolutely okay.

Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you could give Inkscape a whirl. It's open-source.

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By rallues (maxswhore) on 3rd Jul 10 at 2:40pm
Its not a vector if its done in photoshop xP

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By webmaren (webmaren) on 3rd Jul 10 at 3:38pm
It can still be vector. It comes out exactly the same if I stick to the pen tool. I can scale it as much as I want. Still vector.

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By rallues (maxswhore) on 4th Jul 10 at 12:42am
.png, .jpeg, they arent vector formats. For it to be a vector submissions would have to be in a vector format, eg: .svg

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By webmaren (webmaren) on 4th Jul 10 at 1:21am
Then I will revise the specification above to match my intentions.

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By Toshiru (toshiru) on 4th Jul 10 at 1:35am
So basically a vexel?

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By xcessive (xcessive) on 4th Jul 10 at 7:24am
I guess so!

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By webmaren (webmaren) on 4th Jul 10 at 4:12pm
No, not vexel. Vexel is a work with raster and vector components. This is just a rasterized vector piece.

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By iiPod (iipod) on 4th Jul 10 at 9:34pm
Er. No. It's not:

Quote:
Vexel is a neologism for an entirely pixel-based form of raster art that imitates the visual appearance of vector graphics technique (i.e. sharp-edged lines and areas of flat colour or smooth gradient fills).

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By rallues (maxswhore) on 5th Jul 10 at 12:28am
So yeah, its vexel {Tongue Out}

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By Toshiru (toshiru) on 5th Jul 10 at 2:10am
I'll probably enter. So it can pretty be anything? Even a web design? D:

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By rallues (maxswhore) on 5th Jul 10 at 2:22am
As long as the piece has sharp lines, and no blurring or textures, brushes etc, then it can be pretty much anything by definition {Tongue Out}

Re: LPotF #2 - Posted By webmaren (webmaren) on 5th Jul 10 at 1:01pm
Okay, I'll concede the definition of vexel. I think we all now know more than we ever needed to about what to enter in this competition.

You should be making new pieces for these competitions; that's kind of the point.
